Our orthodontic assistants all complete a Certificate III in Dental Assisting and some have a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting, they also continue to do further training at various courses and are encouraged to do so. The orthodontic assistants ensure our patients are comfortable and cared for throughout their appointment and throughout their treatment. The Clinical Supervisor directs the staff throughout our busy morning and afternoon times and oversees the overall running of the clinic.

Emma joined South East Orthodontics in April 2014. She started her dental career in general dentistry in 2011, she completed her certificate III Dental Assisting at RMIT in 2012. Emma has jst completed her Certificate IV in Radiograhy, also at RMIT. Since joining the clinic Emma has been trained in Photography, stock control , ordering and clinical coordinating. Emma primarily works chair side assisting the Orthodontists and Therapist as our clinical supervisor, however also has various roles within the practice which include, stock control, ordering and infection control. Outside of work Emma enjoys being active and spending times with her family and friends. South East Orthodontics is a vibrant and friendly workplace and she feel privileged to be a part of the team
Franca has been with South East Orthodontics since 2007. She has been a Dental Assistant for over 25 years and has her Certificate III Dental Assisting. Her roles include Dental Assistant, Receptionist, management of Invisalign cases and correspondence to patients and dentists when braces are removed. Franca enjoys interacting with people and loves the girls she works with. She has two sons and enjoys spending time with her large extended family and catching up with friends. In her spare time she likes decorating, pilates, listening to music and walking.
Mel joined South East Orthodontics in June 2010. Mel qualified certificate III in dental assisting in 2001. Mel has worked in general dentistry and orthodontics for the last 15 years.Mel enjoys chair side nursing and working close with patients. She also enjoys working in a great team environment.Mel has a daughter and a son with another one on the way due in October. She has a great balance of work and family life to keep busy.
Emma joined South East orthodontics in 2013. Emma completed her Certificate III in dental assisting in 2002 and has also attained a certificate IIII in dental radiography. Emma loves working in orthodontics as she loves getting to know patients and witnessing their fantastic transformations. Outside of work Emma enjoys spending time with her Fiancé’ Dave and son Dominic. Emma’s hobbies include Irish Dancing, swimming and reading.
Bev has been with South East Orthodontics since 2008. Bev has been in the dental industry for over 25 years, working in General Dentistry, Endodontics and Orthodontics. Bev has recently completed her certificate IV in Dental Radiography in 2012. Bev’s roles include assisting the orthodontists, taking clinical radiographs, photo’s and gathering all the records for the Orthodontists to treatment plan. Bev loves seeing the transformation that orthodontics produces. Bev is married with two girls, outside of work she loves Yoga, Meditation, Hiking, Reading, Patchwork and Quilting.
Stephanie joined South East Orthodontics in January 2014; she began her dental career in 2007 in general dentistry and completed her Certificate III Dental Assisting at RMIT in 2008. Since joining our clinic Stephanie has been trained in Suresmile and Lingual Incognito systems. Stephanie primarily works chair side nursing however has taken on various other roles within the clinic such as Reception, Oral Hygiene presentations in primary schools and Managing Suresmile and Lingual Incognito systems. In her spare time Stephanie enjoys baking and is always bringing yummy foods in for the team, she also enjoys playing cricket which she plays regularly.
Michaela had an interest in becoming a dental assistant from a young age, especially after undergoing treatment at South East Orthodontics. She loves helping patients create a beautiful smile and seeing their reactions once their braces are removed. Michaela will be commencing her Certificate III in Dental Assisting this year. Outside of work she enjoys wakeboarding with her family, socialising with her friends and going to the footy.
Arnesa has been part of South East Orthodontics since 2009.Arnesa attained her certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2006. Arnesa works as administrative personnel and dental assistant. She enjoys working in the dental field because of the interaction with the patients. Arnesa enjoys gardening, reading and spending time with her husband and children.
Teaghan joined South East orthodontics in 2015. Teaghan completed her Certificate III Dental Assisting at RMIT University in 2016. Teaghan has always had an interest in dental assisting and loves to be able to help the patients. Outside of work Teaghan loves to socialise, play netball and spend time with her partner, Nathan and two puppies, Winston and Bentley.
Gai joined South East Orthodontics in 2013. She started in general dentistry in 1999 and completed a Certificate III in Dental Assisting. It was then that Gai developed her passion for orthodontics and moved into specialist practices where she has spent the past 15 years. Gai is married, has a very handsome son and a fur baby, Dante, whom she loves equally. Gai loves the beach and sailing, and gets great pleasure in being part of creating gorgeous smiles.
Elley joined the South East Orthodontics team in 2016. She commenced her dental career in 2010, completing a Certificate III in Dental Assisting, followed by a Certificate IV in Dental Radiography in 2014. Elley has always enjoyed being involved and helping patients. Outside of work she enjoys being active and spending time with her family and friends.
Teneille joined SEO in November 2004. Teneille qualified certificate III in dental assisting at a general practice in 2003 and went on to complete cert IV in 2012. Her role at South East Orthodontics is a causal Dental Assistant. Teneille enjoys working closely with patients and educating them about oral health. Teneille has two daughters and a son who keep her very busy outside of work. She loves spending time with family and enjoys netball and music.
Jo joined South East Orthodontics in 2001. Jo has been working in the Dental profession for about 15 years. She completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2000. Jo’s main role at SEO has been as a clinical assistant. In 2005 Jo left on maternity leave to have her first child and has come back as a casual employee on and off over the years in between having a family. Outside of work Jo enjoys spending time with her husband, three young boys, her daughter and playing netball.
Kirsty first joined our team in 2010. She started in the dental field in 2007 as a receptionist where she completed her Certificate III in Business administration before moving into orthodontics in 2008 to become a Dental Assistant. Kirsty began at South East Orthodontics as a Dental Assistant before taking on further roles such as Clinical Supervisor and Stock Control Manager. She left our practice briefly in 2012 to pursue further interests and to complete Diploma of Management before returning in 2014 as Treatment Coordinator for Dr. Theresia Sudjalim. She has completed various training courses and conferences in different areas of orthodontics. Kirsty enjoys working with and educating patients and staff on the world of orthodontics. It has become a passion of hers and she is always trying to find new ways to further herself within the field so that she can answer any questions patients may have.
Maree started working at South East Orthodontics in November 2018 as a trainee dental nurse. Maree will commence Certificate III in dental assisting this year, which will fulfil her interest in dental nursing. Maree loves assisting patients to achieve their best smile. Outside of work she loves socialising with friends and family, spending time in the garden and watching motorsport.
Bec started her career in dental nursing in 2010. Bec completed her certificate III in dental assisting at RMIT in 2011, and she attained her certificate IV in dental radiography in 2015. Bec joined South East Orthodontics in January 2019 after having been a patient of the practice, which sparked her interest in the field of orthodontics. In Bec's spare time she enjoys staying active, going away camping and spending time with her friends, family and her cat Smokey Joe.
